Photograph album of cabinet card portraits of members and board members of the Ladies' Relief Society of Portland, Or., founded in 1864 by Portland women to care for orphans of the overland journey. The portraits date from circa 1865-1899, and the album was put together sometime during the 1890s. Subjects include J. C. Ainsworth, Thomas Lamb Eliot, Mary Ellen Evans Frazar, Henry Failing, Mary H. Holbrook (first president of the society), William Sargent Ladd, David P. Thompson, Henry Villard, Margaret Glen Rae Wygant, and Theodore Wygant, among others. All of the photographs are identified. Photographers include Joseph Buchtel, Elbridge Moore, Joseph Thwaites, and McAlpin & Lamb, all of Portland, Or.
