The clippings come from three major Russian-language émigré newspapers: New Russian word; Russian thought; and Our country. The newspaper articles concern Sakharov's exile in Gorkii and the defense campaign initiated on his behalf in the West. Types of material present include newspaper clippings, some with manuscript annotations, and a few manuscripts, typescripts, and photocopies of these within the Elena Bonner folder.
