Richard Rodgers, composer and producer, was born in New York on June 28, 1902. He composed his first song, My Auto Show Girl when he was fourteen years old. Michel Mok (1889?-1961) was a theatrical press agent and journalist. Born in the Netherlands, he immigrated to Canada and later to the U.S. where he worked as a reporter for the New York Post. In the mid-1940s he associated himself with Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II for whom he handled publicity, public relations and scheduling of major productions.
