Miscellaneous family items include the 1873 burial notice for Arthur M. Record; papers related to Arthur's membership in the Freemason's of Hickory, Newton County, Mississippi; and receipts and letters from W. T. Kernan, an attorney in Clinton, Louisiana, regarding the tutorship of George N. Record's children, Charles F. and Robert M. Also present are two promissory notes signed by Seargent S. Prentiss, an attorney in Vicksburg, for loans of $700 and $800 from George L. Record, payable in 1845. Prentiss did not pay Record, as indicated in an 1848 letter Record wrote to Prentiss proposing four different methods of payment. Jesse L. Cravens' Civil War reminiscences are available in typewritten copy. This account describes Cravens' experiences in Company B, 16th Regiment, Arkansas Infantry; his imprisonment at Johnson Island, exchange at Petersburg, Virginia, return to Port Hudson, and escape following its surrender; and his capture near Baton Rouge, imprisonment at Ship Island, Fort Lafayette (New York), and Fort Warren (Boston), and return to Clinton, East Feliciana Parish, Louisiana, in 1865. Cravens' relationship to the Records is unknown.
