Charles C. MacCall wa born 23 March 1895 in Causeyville, Miss. He attended law school at the University of Alabama. McCall joined the U. S. Army in 1917, where he became a 1st lieutenant and participated in the Mexican border troubles in 1917. He achieved the rank of captain in 1920 and was soon detailed to the Judge Advocate, General Department, Criminal Division, Washington, D. C.
