Letter, 1856 Dec. 25.

Letter to Mrs. John Arthur Roebuck commenting on personal and political matters. The letter discusses plans for a post-Christmas visit, and comments on the uniqueness of The Domesday Book, the legality of document translations, and the Stanley ownership of The Hampshire estate "Ashley". Letter also discusses John A. Roebuck's political career in Parliament, where he represented Sheffield for thirty years.
