William F. Kunze papers, 1865-1962.

Scrapbooks and a few miscellaneous papers documenting Kunze's career as Minneapolis (Minn.) mayor (1929-1931), educator, and banker. The scrapbooks detail his work as principal or superintendent of several Minnesota school systems, including those of Rochester (Olmsted County), Lake City (Wabasha County), Red Wing (Goodhue County), Hastings (Dakota County), and St. Paul; his campaigns for and service in the Minnesota legislature, representing the 39th district (1910-1912); his work as organizer of the Exchange State Bank, Minneapolis, and as trust officer of its successor, the Marquette National Bank (1916-1960); and his service on the Hennepin County Child Welfare Board (1916-1928) and as mayor of Minneapolis. He was a Republican.
