The Pew Charitable Trusts is a private foundation working in the areas of culture, education, the environment, health and human services,public policy and religion throughout the various communities in American society. The Trusts are a national philanthrophy with special focus on the Philadelphia (Pennsylvania) region. Records in this series include annual reports that document the growth of the Conservation and the Environment Program and the work of the Advisory Committee. Correspondence of program officer Jon M. Jensen and outside coordinator Susan Faurot document the management of the program and PCT's support for building a conservation database system. The records desctibe the work of the Pew Scholars in Conservation and the Pew Global Stewardship Initiative. Also included are reports from World Resources Institute, The Joyce Foundation, and the Center for Latin American Studies. There is substantial information concerning the Trusts' role in the Delaware River Basin Project, Institute for Cooperative Environmental Management, Training and Management for Sustainable Development, Energy Foundation, and the Biological Systematics programs.
