Hans Richter archive, 1916-1977.

Extensive collection of material largely accumulated by Richter after his emigration to the United States in 1941. Includes clippings, business and personal correspondence, manuscripts, published books and articles (by and about Richter), announcements and catalogs for exhibitions of Richter's work, photographs from film projects and a 1970 interview with Richter on audio tape. Manuscripts for Richter's films and film projects date from 1929 to 1958 and include extensive material for "Dreams That Money Can Buy" (1947), "The Minotaur" (unrealized project), "8 x 8" (1957), and his first abstract film "Rhythm 21" (1921).
