A collection of numbered documents and official communications, chiefly printed, relating for the most part to political and military developments in the northern states of Mexico. Volume I contains several Mss., among them a "Reglamento" for a commissariat of war, Mexico City, May 23, 1816; an Acta for the reinstatement of Francisco Iriarte as governor of Sonora, June 8, 1829; a letter of Ignacio de Bustamante, Arispe, November 3, 1821; papers of José Antonio de Echávarri, 1823, regarding a Congress; an exhortation of Gaspar de Ochoa, Durango, March 5, 1823, in support of Mexican independence; letter of Antonio Cordero. March 6, 1823, reporting his illness and inability to serve; (Cont.) letters of Antonio Campuzano, February 5 and 7, 1846, concerning affairs in Ures; Governor José María Gaxiola's statement, February 6, 1846, regarding matters at Ures; letter of March 16, 1823, of Pedro María de Allande of Chihuahua concerning the Plan de Casa Mata; another letter, February 8, 1846, of Antonio Campuzano protesting the appointment of Francisco Islas to a judicial post; letter of Ignacio de Pérez, commander at Janos, concerning a military matter; and a Ms., no 109, written in December, 1828, or January, 1829, by Governor Lorenzo de Zabala and General José María Lobato exhorting the people to peace after the recent revolution.
