Military records, 1898-1929, include a roster for the 1st and 2nd Ala. Vol. Infantry, officers' muster-in-roll for Ala. Governor William W. Brandon and Sherwood Bonner, a record of Charles F. Anderson's election as Captain of Company D, 2nd Infantry Ala. Militia, a newspaper clipping of Fitzhugh Lee, veterans encampment programs and minutes from 1929, 1940, 1951, and 1954. There is also a program for the dedication of the Spanish-American War Statue placed in the Ala. Dept. of Archives and History, Montgomery, Ala.

William W. (Woodward) Brandon, governor of Alabama from 1923 to 1927, was born on 1868 June 5 in Talladega, Ala. to Rev. Frank T.J. (1832-1909) and Carrie (Woodward) Brandon. In 1891 he studied law at the University of Alabama and in 1892 he established his law practice in Tuscaloosa and he was elected city clerk and appointed Justice of the Peace.
