Records, 1813-1844.

Letters written by the partners are largely concerned with orders for spinning machinery, cotton yarn, and raw cotton. There is some correspondence relating to the 1819 shut down. Also included are letters documenting construction of the mill and the employment of bleachers and dyers. There is some correspondence which indicates that one Pouchet Belmare from Rouen was offering to pay for the passage of French workers to America. Financial records include accounts, bills, and receipts, including those for boarding workers (1815). There is also an employee list giving occupations and wages. Other records document the leasing of the mill to A. W. Adams & Co. in 1843, when it became known as Henry Clay Mill.
