Records of the publishing firms of Burgess, Stringer and Co. and Stringer & Townsend in which James Stringer was a partner. Documents include partnership agreement, merger documents, and two agreements documenting the subsequent dissolution of the partnership, and a New York Supreme Court suit filed to prevent Stringer and Townsend from selling their printing equipment, because of a chattel mortgage for $10,000. Collection also includes an inventory of printing plates for Stringer & Townsend.
