These papers document Pierre S. and T. Coleman du Pont's involvement with The Johnson Company and other companies set up by Tom Johnson. Included are minutes of directors' and stockholders' meetings, lists of stockholders, and financial records for the Johnson Company. Also included are operating records of The Johnson Company and the Lorain Street Railway Company. These records include construction and maintenance reports, as well as documentation on rolling stock, labor relations, earnings, acquisition of real estate, and street lighting contracts. Records of the Manaos Railway Co. describe the problems that were involved in constructing a railway in northern Brazil during the early twentieth century.
