The names of its members and officers include: Beverley R. Robinson, George W. Jacques, George E. Hite, Jr., Sinclair Hamilton, Donald MacKenzie, Henry Francis du Pont, J. Frank Otwell, and Henry K. Greer. The 1930 incorporation papers document Henry Francis du Pont intentions to establish Chestertown House, his Southampton, Long Island residence, as a museum.
