Consists of certificate of incorporation, by-laws, minute books, and annual meeting notices documenting the formation and dissolution of the Chestertown Corporation and, to a limited extent, the operations of the corporation. The names of its members and officers include: Beverley R. Robinson, George W. Jacques, George E. Hite, Jr., Sinclair Hamilton, Donald MacKenzie, Henry Francis du Pont, J. Frank Otwell, and Henry K. Greer. The 1930 incorporation papers document Henry Francis du Pont intentions to establish Chestertown House, his Southampton, Long Island residence, as a museum.
