Jane Cromwell Cleveland Burnett miscellany, 1860-1923.

Two handwritten letters from Ellen D. Larnal in Thompson, Conn., dated Mar. 15, 1895 and Aug. 13, 1907, concerning Burnett's eligibility for membership in the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR); several legal documents and unofficial typed copies concerning Burnett's ownership of real property in Brooklyn and the Bronx, New York; and a bound, typed copy (24 leaves) of her address to the Sequoia Chapter of the DAR, given Apr. 9, 1923, entitled, "My Memories of Early California Days," in which she reminisces about her voyage from New York to San Francisco via Panama aboard the steamship, George Law, in Dec. 1855, and about her life in Marysville, Long Bar, Sacramento, and San Francisco with her husband, W.C. Burnett. Includes anecdotes about Chinese gold miners along the Yuba River, trials and hangings by the Vigilance Committee, and other topics and people. Bound in front are two photo portraits, one each of W.C. and Jane Cromwell Burnett.
