Letters, 1934-1938, England, to Philip D. Sherman, Oberlin, Ohio.

[1] 1934, September 17, London [ALS. 3 p. with envelope].--The general opinion in England is that Thomas Wise forged the pamphlets. Frederick Page went to Wise and "offered himself for the defense" but after interviewing Wise he severed all connection with the case. [2] 1938, June 6, London [TLS. 1 l. Accompanied Dickens' tea caddy (KMU 118) in Koopman Collection.]--Hopes the caddy arrived in good condition. Has been "making a catalogue of an enormous collection of Dickens' letters..." [for Sotheby & Co.]. [3] 1938, July 8, Welwyn Garden City, [Hertfordshire, Eng.] [ALS. 1 l.].--Thanks Sherman for check, for bids in Suzannet sale, and for compliments on Sotheby catalogue.
