Order exempting customs house officials from juries, 1731 August.

Instructions from King George II given to the late Governor John Montgomerie and copied and issued by Rip Van Dam, "President and Commander in Chief of his majestie's Province of New York and its dependencies in America." The order is an exemption for all customs house officials from serving on juries, personally serving in the militia, or serving any parochial offices.
