Pursuant to MGLA c 21, s 4E and c 132A, the Bureau of Recreation is responsible for the supervision of state recreational facilities outside the Metropolitan Parks District, including parks, forests, reservations, camping areas, beaches, pools, and skating rinks. Park reference files are created to provide ready reference to site-specific information and to create reports to the National Park Service on the bureau's activities.
