Letter, 1831 February 20.

Letter to Thomas W. Olcott at Albany, N.Y. "...There is something of an entanglement here politics-too-many great and vital interests at issue, I am afraid that our friend Judge Marcy after he has been here one session will sigh for his seat on the bench again particularly as he did not desire the station he has chosen to fill-not withstanding all the trouble, the sacrifice of comfort and property and the wish of health the office of Senator of the U.S. is very generally considered here as quite desirable." Written at Washington, D.C.
