Minutes, 1876.

Minutes, 1876 June 22 - 1876 July 6, of the Huntsville (Ala.) Republican Club (though the volume is entitled Index to Commissioners Letters) occupy eight pages at the front of the book, and a daybook, 1867 July 11 - Dec. 22, of an unidentified livery stable is at the back of the volume. The daybook occupies over one-half of the volume, and is read from back to front. Additionally, at the very back of the volume is a clipping, 1869 May 10, on carpetbaggers, by "Petroleum V. Nasby", and at the end of the daybook, are four poems. The minutes contain information on the organizational meeting of 1876 June 22, including the election of officers and their duties, the election of delegates to the Republican Party National Convention, and, in later meetings, the nomination of candidates for office. At the end of the minutes are two loose sheets, n.d., on which are listed the membership of the Huntsville Club, Jones Club, Blutcher Ford Club, Triana Club, Newmarket Club, Buck Horn Club, Bradley Club, Big Cave Club, Beaver Dam Club, New Zion Club, Ayers Spring Club, Cedar Grove Club, Whiteburg Club and Andersons Club, and Meridianville Club.
