The Office for Children as a state agency is required by Exec Order 227 (1983) to appoint an affirmative action officer and to establish an affirmative action program to ensure equal opportunity in all areas of employment. Program is subject to review and oversight of the Executive Office of Human Services (EOHS) affirmative action officer and the State Office of Affirmative Action (SOAA). The Office for Children affirmative action manager meets regularly with the EOHS affirmative action officer and with affirmative action managers of other human service agencies. Series is created by the office's affirmative action unit to administer and document office participation in these meetings.
