Margaret Dixon scrapbook, 1935-1972.

The scrapbook, compiled by Mrs. Roger W. Richardson, contains newspaper clippings, photographs, and other items which document Dixon's career as a journalist and editor of the Baton Rouge paper, MORNING ADVOCATE. Included are obituaries of Dixon and other posthumously collected materials.

Margaret Dixon, a native of New Orleans, Louisiana, was a nationally-known journalist, editor, and dean of the Louisiana capitol press corps. She was editor-in-chief of the Louisiana State University student newspaper "Reveille," a reporter for the Baton Rouge "State-Times" and the New Orleans "Picayune," and managing editor of the Baton Rouge "Morning Advocate."
