Biographical Note Donald Webster Cory (1913-1986, also known as Donald Sagarin) wrote The Homosexual in America (1951), a book regarded as one of the primary influences on the early gay rights movement. In the early 1950s, Cory also operated the mail-order Cory Book Service, which marketed books of interest to the gay and lesbian community.
