Physician and author James Gordon Bryson (1884-1968) was born to Joseph Goodson and Elizabeth (Anderson) Bryson on October 6, 1884, in Liberty Hill, Texas. After graduating from the University of Texas medical school at Galveston in 1910, he married Lily Clara Shuddemagen, and the couple eventually had six children.
