Biographical Note: McKendree Llewellyn Raney was Librarian of The Johns Hopkins University, 1908-1927 having served as Acting Librarian beginning in 1903. Raney received the A.B. degree from Centre College and the Ph. D. degree from Hopkins in 1904.
