Raney, M. Llewellyn (McKendree Llewellyn), b. 1877
Variant namesBiographical Note: McKendree Llewellyn Raney was Librarian of The Johns Hopkins University, 1908-1927 having served as Acting Librarian beginning in 1903.
Raney received the A.B. degree from Centre College and the Ph. D. degree from Hopkins in 1904. At Hopkins, Raney contributed to the plans for Gilman Hall, completed in 1915, and constructed to preserve the design of the University's departmental library system. Raney was appointed Director of the University of Chicago's Libraries in 1927.
