Joseph Peace Papers, . 1801-1815

Joseph Peace and his brother William Peace (1773-1865) were partners in a general merchandising firm in Raleigh, N.C. William Peace was also a philanthropist who donated funds and land to found Peace College. The collection includes daybooks of the general merchandise firm of William Peace and his brother Joseph Peace, and an undated letter from Sherwood Haywood concerning tuition money and certificates of entrance for Nancy and Sally Haywood to Peace College.

Joseph Peace and his brother William Peace (1773-1865) were partners in a general merchandising firm in Raleigh, N.C.
