The first lectures in the College of Law were given at the University of Minnesota on September 11, 1888 by Dean William S. Pattee to 27 students in the Hermean room in the basement of Old Main. Terrance Hanold received his B.A. in 1934 and J.D. in 1936 from the University of Minnesota. He served as legal council to the Minneapolis Star and Tribune before joining the law department at Pillsbury; he was later promoted to president and financial officer.
