David S. Wise graduated from Walnut Hills High School in Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1963. He received a B. S. degree in mathematics from Carnegie Mellon University in 1967 and an M. S. and Ph. D. in computer science from the University of Wisconsin in 1969 and 1971.
