Part 1, French troops move forward against Communist installations in Laos; planes drop supplies during the engagement. Part 2 shows the wedding of Norwegian Princess Ragnhild in Oslo. Part 3, lace fashions are modeled. Part 4 shows jet aces Manuel Fernandez and Joseph McConnell and Sabrejets in combat in Korea. Part 5, flashbacks show Chief Justice Vinson giving the oath to President Eisenhower. The President and Gen. Ridgway lay a wreath of Lafayette's statute, D.C. The President states that taxes cannot yet be cut. Part 6, giant candles are carried through the streets of Gubbio, Italy, in a religious ceremony.
