Born in Greece, naturalized U.S. citizen, 1913. Founded Fox Film Company, which he merged with 20th Century in 1935. President of 20th Century Fox between 1942 and 1962 and Chairman of the Board between 1962 and 1969. In 1969, his Prudential shipping line acquired Grace Lines and became Prudential-Grace.
