Harry C. Butcher was a broadcast executive and General Dwight D. Eisenhower's naval aide during World War II. He was born in Springville, Iowa in 1901 and graduated from Iowa State College. Butcher established the Columbia Broadcasting System's (CBS) Washington, D.C. radio station and became Washington vice president of CBS in 1934.
