Ceremony in the courtyard. Gen Ridgway reviews French Honor Guard, troops line of officers of ALFCE and AAFCE. He shakes hands with officers. He makes a brief speech of farewell. Field Marshal Alphonse Juin is on the stand with him at beginning of scene. MS, Adm Jaujard, Gen Lauris Norstad, Marshal Juin stand in courtyard. These three also appear in the footage shot of the ceremony. After the speech, Ridgway speaks to Juin and Norstad. An officer runs up, speaks to the marshal and Ridgway. Scenes of Ridgway arriving; being greeted. Ridgway shakes hands with Juin, Norstad, gets into car, waves. Somewhere in England: Ridgway, wearing the new type Army dress uniform, leaves plane, is greeted by a Gen Brownjohn.
