David F. Cook papers 1917-1991

David F. Cook was foreman for the sheep operations of the Warren Live Stock Company from 1921-1962. He also authored four books, three children’s books and a history of the sheep industry in southeast Wyoming and the Warren Live Stock Company, as well as numerous articles and talks. His papers include personal papers, manuscripts of all four books and many articles, transcripts and recordings from his oral history project, photographs and slides.

Dave Cook was foreman of the Warren Live Stock Company’s sheep operation for 41 years. In his later years, he became a prolific writer, completing four books and numerous articles for The Fence Post, a farm and ranch newspaper out of Ft. Collins, Colorado. Francis E. Warren was appointed Territorial Governor of Wyoming by President Chester A. Arthur. He served from February 28, 1885 to November 11, 1886 and served a second term when appointed by President Benjamin Harrison from April 9, 1889 to October 11, 1890.
