Herbert C. Miller Papers 1883-1959

Dr. Herbert C. Miller, D.D.S., M.D., was born in 1864, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. He graduated from the Missouri Dental College in 1885 and from the St. Louis Medical College in 1887. Dr. Miller founded the North Pacific College of Dentistry in 1898. As president, he transferred the North Pacific College of Dentistry to the State of Oregon in 1945. He died at home in Newport, Oregon, December 20, 1947. The collection consists of personal papers, photographs and documents documenting Herbert Miller's life and career as an early dentist in the Pacific Northwest.

Dr. Herbert C. Miller, D.D.S., M.D., was born June 19, 1864, in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. He was educated at the Missouri Dental college, where he obtained his D.D.S. in 1885. He graduated as an M.D. from the St. Louis Medical College in 1887. Dr. Miller began practice in Nebraska City, Nebraska, 1887. He arrived in Portland January 7, 1891, where he entered practice.
