Paul Lincoln Kleinsorge (1906-1991) was born in Sacramento, California and earned bachelor and doctorate degrees from Stanford, and a MBA from Harvard. He married Elizabeth Wiley in 1941 and they moved to Eugene in 1948. Kleinsorge joined the University of Oregon as professor of economics and remained a faculty member until he retired in 1972.
