University of Utah Department of Family and Community Medicine records 1966-1984

The Department of Family and Community Medicine was organized in 1970. It provided practical experience to medical students through outreach programs often in conjunction with foundations and state agencies. Hilman Castle was the primary organizer and served as the first chairman. This collection contains correspondence, meeting minutes, and reports pertaining to the operation of the department and the rural health clinics which it sponsored.
