Bethlehem Lutheran Church was organized December 5, 1899. The people originally came from Norway and settled in the middle West before going to Marysville. The community of Norumtown was named after Ed Norum, who called the organizational meeting to order. On December 21, 1899 another meeting was held to organize the Norwegian Lutheran Free Church.
