Bethlehem Lutheran Church (Marysville, Wash.)

Bethlehem Lutheran Church was organized December 5, 1899. The people originally came from Norway and settled in the middle West before going to Marysville. The community of Norumtown was named after Ed Norum, who called the organizational meeting to order. On December 21, 1899 another meeting was held to organize the Norwegian Lutheran Free Church. They adopted a constitution and chose a name. The first church was built in February of 1900, and an addition was built in 1904. In June of 1905 the congregation withdrew from the Lutheran Free Church and joined the UNLC. The Parish Hall and Worship Center were built and dedicated December 15, 1956, with the dedication of the educational unit occurring November 26, 1961.
