Callison Marks Papers 1933 - 1969

Callison Marks was a Spokane native who attended George Washington University and served in the Naval Reserves before returnin to Spokane afterWWII. He served as the chief editorial writer for the Spokesman-Review for many years. The collection consists primarily of correspondence and research material from Marks' office files. Special attention is given to Western water- and power-related projects and local politics.

Callison Marks was born in Spokane in 1905. After he served in WWII, he returned to Spokane to become the chief editorial writer for the Spokesman-Review. He was actively interested in water resource issues in the Pacific Northwest and Canada. Mr. Marks was appointed to serve on the Western States Water Council in 1965.
