Arthur, Copley, and his son Copley Jr. were all members of the prominent Amory family of Boston. Arthur Amory was born February 6, 1841. He graduated from Harvard University in 1862. While an undergraduate, he visited Greenland with the expedition sponsored by the National Historical Society of Williams College. He died in August 1911. Copley Amory was born in 1866.
