Papers are actually undated 20th century transcriptions of two letters from Mormon missionaries found in the Evening and Morning Star (EMS), a monthly Mormon newspaper, in Ohio and Mich. The letters include one from Samuel Bent in Pontiac, Feb. 16, 1833, published in the April 1833 EMS, and a letter from Gideon (Simeon?) H. Robert Gordon Newby was born on Christmas Day in 1898 in Sask, Canada. His parents moved to the United States in 1905 and in 1907 they were baptized into the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. In 1911 he was baptized into the same church and in 1920 he married Mabel E. Anderson who had been brought up a member of the Reorganized Church. From the guide to the MS 2111 Robert G.
