Fredericka Dembitz Brandeis papers 1880-1886

Fredericka Dembitz Brandeis came to the U.S. in 1848 from Prague with her husband, Adolph Brandeis. He entered the grain and produce business in Louisville, Kentucky. Their second son, Louis Dembitz Brandeis, became a justice of the U.S. Supreme Court. Collection consists of typed transcript copy of the recollections of Fredericka Brandeis. Recollections were written for her son Louis between 1880 and 1886 and describe her early life.
