New York State Comptroller memorandum book 1799-1826

This memorandum book was kept by Archibald McIntyre, a New York official and comptroller from 1806-1821. Entries, which cover 1799 to 1818, include extracts of laws and financial reports related to lotteries, road construction and upkeep, navigation issues, education expenses, and the State's purchase of the Elgin Botanical Garden from David Hosack in 1810. The volume also contains notes kept by New York Comptroller William Learned Marcy from 1824 to 1826
