The Good Old Days was a hugely popular variety show that tried to recreate the music halls of the early 1900s. It was broadcast by the BBC from Leeds City Varieties from 1953 until 1983. A key feature was that everyone, especially the audience, was dressed up in period costume, and they responded to the show with suitable oohs and aahs.
