The Good Old Days was a hugely popular variety show that tried to recreate the music halls of the early 1900s. It was broadcast by the BBC from Leeds City Varieties from 1953 until 1983. A key feature was that everyone, especially the audience, was dressed up in period costume, and they responded to the show with suitable oohs and aahs. It was hosted by Leonard Sachs and regular acts included Ken Dodd, Danny La Rue and Les Dawson.
