Arthur Hollingworth and Rowland Freeman's backgrounds are not known. The Charles Bernard referred to in fo. i lived from 1650-1711. He was elected surgeon to St Bartholomew's Hospital in 1686, and developed the chief surgical practice in London thereafter.
