Arthur Hollingworth and Rowland Freeman's backgrounds are not known.
The Charles Bernard referred to in fo. i lived from 1650-1711. He was elected surgeon to St Bartholomew's Hospital in 1686, and developed the chief surgical practice in London thereafter. He was appointed Sergeant-Surgeon to Queen Anne in 1702, and was Master of the Barber Surgeons' Company in 1703.
