UNEDITED FILM REPORT: Rocket on pad, men at rocket base leave area. Men watch the attachement of escape tower hoist mate to spacecraft. Technician working with primate couch. Astronauts John Glenn and Alan Shepard look at monkey bio-pack. Technicians secure monkey (Miss Sam) to primate couch and place couch into bio-pack. Bio-pack placed in container and it is sealed. Technicians carry container to spacecraft and install it. Technicians at control panel during spacecraft prelaunch check. Rocket on pad, ignition, lift-off and tracking. Camera men and others watch lift-off from behind barracade. Dr. Bob Sisler (?) feeds apple to "Miss Sam," removes electrodes and places her in couch. Shepard watches and talks with crew as they work around spacecraft. Glen and Shepard talk with man and look at equipment.

John Herschel Glenn, Jr. (b. July 18, 1921, Cambridge, Guernsey County-d. December 8, 2016, Columbus, Ohio), astronaut and U.S. Senator from Ohio.
